Fiji Sugar Industry
JaeBow conducted a Training Needs Analysis (TNA) for the Sugar Industry which is the second largest exporter of sugar in the world.
This Industry is made up of their head office, 4 Sugar Mills, Transportation, (consisting of both Rail and Road) and the Extension Workers that work with the farmers/growers.
- The process of conducting a TNA with large organisations is to analyse the positions across the structure within agreed scope of the TNA.
- This strategy ensured that the positions within the departments and the production process from the cane entering the crush to the storage of raw sugar ready for the market was included in the TNA process.
- Staff members for each position were asked to participate in the TNA process which involved completing the Self Evaluation Questionnaire, attending an interview and provide their staff profile.
- The supervisor of the positions was also asked to complete a Supervisors Feedback Questionnaire for each position.
On completion of the process the identified gaps were mapped to recognised Training Packages and developed into a training plan for each position.
The training plans were collated and formed the bases for the development of the training schedule which was implemented over a 3 year period.
